Can anyone tell me where I can get the font Carpenter ICG or a font close to it, for free.?
I've looked everyone, but I can't seem to find any free versions of it.

 What a difference a space can make. You are right - of course you are ;) - Visual Graphics Corporation, 1972, designer U. Suess. Later ICG 1992.
So I guess what happened is that Corel bought a licence from ICG, digitized it and bundled it with Corel Draw as the Brochure.
Then later someone renamed Brochure back to Book Jacket - with a space.

I'd go for the Global ICG. A clone by the name of Cuckoo is flying around.
By the look of the "K" here probably the Cuckoo was used.

Can not have bought it from Linotype as Linotype only bought the rights from Tetterode in 2000.
By the way, the URW's Craw Modern was originally an ICG font (1992).

deviantart's font section contains Carpenter ICG free for download... most of the time found at fonts.com for $42.
I guess deviantart is not a very credible source of freeware fonts. surprised the big guys are not jumping at them yet.

Same old question. Who did what and who was first.
Carr came up with the Arcitectura and made it free: Freeware! from A. Carr Remember to vote! If you don't vote, you can't bitch! - Fantazia Fonts and Sounds. But: Fantazia, a cloner.
Fonts.com decided to try to sell an ICG version for $42, as Arquitectura: Copyright (c) 1992 Image Club Graphics, Inc. But: no designer info
And then we have the Corel Architecture: Copyright (c) 1992 Corel Corporation. Also no designer info.
Most probably there are also BT and URW versions around. And I would not be surprised if even Adobe would claim claim it to be a Adobe design.
Heron probably knows. She's much better at this.
