16 posts view forum post #156 «It is really, REALLY sad, that in 2 weeks the histories of 2 huge font-forum-archives are gone. Please don't tell me that it's true.» wrote the swallow. Looks like open source was too vulnerable to hacking attempts. Or maybe Alex just wanted to develop his own software. Only Alex knows. For sure one day he will tell us. Anyway the way he described the open source forum software could in no way be considered a compliment. It couldn't even be considered sarcastic or even ironic. And, what Rodolphe is doing? Who knows? Just a short line of explanation would have been nice. Both here and there. From an email discussion with Alex about the history of this forum these quotes: «... old forum is gone forever, at least for now, ...» and «... you are correct. i will make an effort of recovering the knowledge burried with the old, insecure, 3rd party, ** $#$%^*(^@!#$) ** (not to be revealed to the world) of a forum.» Also see the thread with my discussion with Alex: «THING!! --- The history has gone. Many things that already have been answered now can not be referred to anymore. Can you keep the old forum up as read-only?» In short I can/must accept that Alex doesn't want to keep an insecure - vulnerable forum up. Too many attacks. But keeping it up as read-only should be possible. Not the nicest of all solutions, true, but at least a solution. Or am I the only one who believes that a people without a history maybe a bunch of people but are not a people. Anyone out there supports me? ... nice to see you here heron ... (Alex, enjoy your holiday today out there in that cabin in the middle of nowhere). - re: is this the new forum?

I've tried looking for it and you get so many sites that say the font s free and when you click download it directs you to a non free font site where it's costs 80 pounds somebody helllllp. - Really Really need - Neuzeit GroTBol,GroTReg,
7 posts view forum post #6780 Yep. I admit this is unusual; ID a font before it is released. I may be lacking the 'VikingEye? (© 2003 Koeiekat)', but it's not that easy to beat the Cat.

6 posts view forum post #8765 I had this font before my computer crash a few months ago, and now I can't find it easily anywhere online, and I'm drawing a blank on the name of it. Maybe it came with a software program that I don't remember the name of? Anyway, if anyone here could take a peek and if you could help out, I'd appeciate it. http://www.MyOnlineImages.com/Members/Terre/images/ScriptSample.jpg Thanks ~ Terre - Can you identify this Script font?
6 posts view forum post #6744 I changed it to GRAY8 bitmap and result is still the same - 4 as bufsize. That's what it's value is before I call it the second time. I checked the return value of GetLastError(), and it was zero. I guess this means there wasn't any error(?!). It would have returned a non-zero value after some error. And the fonts are not corrupted!! I had tried changing fonts and sizes earlier, and this time also, but the return value is always four bytes. Don't ask me the exact error message, cos I dunno how to use FormatString() for this! But GetLastError()'s return value was zero. If the trouble is with memory DCs, read that part about CDC::CreateCompatibleDC() with NULL as argument, it had something which I din't understand - When a memory device context is created, GDI automatically selects a 1-by-1 monochrome stock bitmap for it. GDI output functions can be used with a memory device context only if a bitmap has been created and selected into that context.[/b:b4086b634e] I don't think so, but could the trouble due to this? I have another doubt - will GetStockObject() be required for this? Looks like I'll have to go ahead with GGO_NATIVE unless we find some solution soon enough! :D
6 posts view forum post #4554 I'm thinking that there's a very good chance that you're tired of hearing from me with my little projects. Each of these projects, though, means a great deal to me, and I thank you for all of the help you have given me thus far. I don't blame you for not replying to my last post, it wasn't really worth replying to anyway. But I really need your help here. I'm going to be making what might be my last 'film' which will be based on the classic film, "The Godfather." You may or may not be familar with it, because I have no idea what films are released in Germany and what films you like to watch. It's really none of my business anyway. Back to business, though, I made a little picture that shows two examples of the font. I remember seeing the font before, but I have no idea where to find it now. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to find this font and safely give me a link to it (a little Mission: Impossible humor). If you can find one with the hand holding the puppet as a letter or number or something like that, that'd be great, but my main concern is the actual text used for the words, "The Godfather." Thanks in advance for any help you can give me and thanks for all of the help you already have given me! - Ute,
