Hi fellow font geeks ;)
I'm working on a parody/satire piece for a grassroots non profit activist group... and looking for a font that looks like "FF Dax" (regular) but I really need an absolutely free copy. It's for a one off leaflet... which I need to finish soon!
looking forward to your suggestions,
bo

Hello I got another font that needs an id, at first I thought it was Dax Bold, but the S, E are different, almost cartoon like, oh and I think the pond part is Dax Light, but I could be wrong.

If you don't mind the lines being horizontal have a look at the Ecuyer DAX.

FF Dax by Hans Reichel. That is a huge commercial family, nothing like it in the freesection which would be legal. Some similarities you can see in Yanone Kaffeesatz by Jan Gerner.

Popular are Frutiger, Myriad, Helvetica, Minion and many more.
If you want a more unique look try Dax(line), PMN Caecilia, Eidetic or Serus for a semi-serif which isn't Rotis.
For a 300 pages resumee I would only recommend commercial fonts, as here you are relativley sure, that there are no problems with kerning and printing. But if you don't want to spend any money have a look in the Sans or the Serif section and take something with at least 3 weights. Example: M+2p regular.
Or have a look at Fonce Sans, looks interesting although just one weight.
