I actually had been thinking of FontLab, but was curious if there was something else I should be looking at. I saw a program called Font Creator, which sells for a much lower price. I thought maybe since I am not creating fonts from scratch, but just modifying existing fonts, that a lower priced program might be better for me. I thoughtnit might be less cumbersome to use..
Does anyone know about Font Creator?

Hi koeiekat,
This one is a little strange, Serpentine is very close, but it's the thick and thins that's got me. I know the creator of this logo and I'm sure they didn't alter the font, " to lazy ". Unfortunately, the creator will not share any details about the font with me. I'm hoping to convince the client to up date the logo and make it a little better for both of us. But you know how fun that is at times.
Thanks again for your time. I'm going to keep looking for now. I'll let you know if things on this end change.

I use font creator as it is/was more economical.
But I have used font lab, Creator has grown on me, only because of the extent i have used it since acquiring it, and the farther my memories of using font lab become.
but my interest in expanding my abilities in font lab has not diminished, i read with sincere interest any materials educating on the subject of it's features & capabilities.
I do take it quite seriously, believe it or not. I could say more... but i don't think you take me seriously so... maybe another time.

Nobody claims this font. There is no info whatsoever about the maker of the Ian Jude. Font vendor HL only means that the font was rendered with Font Creator. In this case Font Creator v5.0.

Yes, since my business has made less than 100$ in a year so far, and my husband just got laid off, and I have a 18 month old to support...
Yes, I do. :)
Every font I have is a free font, that allows commercial either by adding a link, or I have received permission from the creator to use it.
Those last ones, I will give the creator something for when I make the $1000 a month or more some shop owners do.. but as you can see, I'm still far from there.
(I HAVE made progress... most of my $100 is from the last 2 months.)

if the font was downloaded from dafont and uploaded to Abstract Fonts, the versions are identical.
It shows your name because you uploaded it, not because that information is embedded in the font file itself. I can add a designer with your name and assign that font to be under your name but that doesnt mean that the font itself contains your name. Which it should so you can be identified as the author no matter where the font is downloaded from.
I also checked windows font viewer and shows the same embedded info as Abstract Fonts does.
You have to update the font data in the Font Creator.
