! not ALL free fonts are listed on Abstract or Dafont, some designers choose where they want to be distributed.
But what's the point of giving the same link as above, Prop?

Wondering what this Clarendon-like typeface (or maybe even actual Clarendon variation/style) is or any details on it.
Thanks in advance my loves :)

Can anyone direct me to a (free) font that looks like cursive and chrome? We're trying to replicate the font from the Disney movie "Cars" for an elementary school project.
Thanks--

Goto high-ligic.com
Get Font creator
Scan your text at high resolution (min 600 dpt) B/W
Save every single character as a single BMP
Import in Font Creator.
Do think about the kearning so that the characters match correctly. See your example
Save as a font with a clone name.
Carcefully look at the copyright lines, otherwise it's not yours.
Bingo. Done.
Piece of cake. Great thing: you can eat it AND have your font
You have 30 days or you will have to pay.
Which after this exercise you will do happily do anyway because it is a good program.
Missing any characters? Tell me.

Hello all, looking for a font that has a grassy or plant type look to it...doing a poster for a show called "Grass Roots" and everything I find is a bit to flowery for my liking. Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

I have always used Fontographer - since their very first 1.0 release (I'm on a Mac). It is reliable and keeps kerning information, etc.
They recently released a new version, and it will work on System 10 -- up till about 2 months ago, it only worked on System 9.
I have been told if I want to do Open Type fonts - to look into FontLab.
Fontographer is great for Mac and PC fonts - Type 1 and True Type... and you can still fiddle around with Multiple Masters... but no Open Type.
Don't know if I helped - but I might have given you more info to think over...

Moin Sweetheart!
You definitely need another application to convert your images into an complete true type font, f.e. the Font Creator Program. Make sure you buy the full version, cause only this includes the feature to import bitmap images.
Other thing, Alex, I can not see some background info anymore. Not urgent but it did help.
what type of background info are you referring to?
i will be working on restoring usernames, but i will only do that on request, since i don't know the AF -> AF Forum username connections unless the user tells me.
So please, in this thread, request for me to assign the old forum posts to your new, or existing new forum username. Provide your old username and the new username.
