I have this cheap True Type knock-off of a common display font that many of you probably know very well. I use this so frequently, I'd like to know what the original / professional version of the font might be labeled.
Because it's so common, I thought there would be some sort of original available in OpenType, but I'm not aware of it.
Thank you in advance!

This font looks very familiar, but I can't seem to find a match. Does anybody know what it might be? Thanks

I guess so, that a font like that doesn't exist. This is the ipothesis RF made: that starting from the sharp-edged Ornitons, redrawing it with a vector design application, the graphic designer obtained the Padres logo. Quite a common process in our job and safe for the client who can have a unique thing for his/her product. Just think at how many crooks could print fake shirts if it was a common font. They can anyway - redrawing from zero - but it still involves a graphic designer doing all the work.
Nice shirt and colours, by the way.

there is no bullet-proof method. a file can be in cluded but it could be fake, or it could not be there. Metrics data could be there or not. If it is there it could easily be fake. Safest way is to find a font you like check those two sources, if the conflict or one is missing, contact the designer. the designer might or might not reply.
btw, welcome Cheryl. I know what you mean about the t-shirts :)

is there a list of common or suggested kerning pairs anywhere?
I googled to no avail.
