  8. Rijk by Wilton Foundry, $39.00
The font name comes from the Dutch word "Rijk" meaning "rich". I'd like you to consider Rijk as a good Pinot Noir: medium bodied, offering succulent juicy berry flavors, accentuated by delicate aromas of coffee and vanilla oak. Ruby red in color, it boasts of velvety tannins and a long fulfilling fruity aftertaste. Rijk has a structure that is delicate and fresh. The aromatics are very fruity like cherry, strawberry, and plum, often with notes of tea-leaf, damp earth, or worn leather… My intent was to create a script that is rich, while not overbearing. It will serve many noble and useful purposes because of its fresh and lively texture. It is also very legible because it has a slightly more upright angle. Use Rijk for headlines, packaging, identities, advertising and online. Available in OpenType, it includes a range of ligatures as well as a full range of class kerning.
  9. Pamplemousse by The Ampersand Forest, $19.00
Meet Pamplemousse, a display font that's part fun, casual script and part elegant typeface! Pamplemousse is most decidedly a fellow who enjoys lazy Sunday mornings spent sipping mimosas or bloody marys over a plate of eggs benedict and the New York Times crossword puzzle. He enjoys dressing up for use in branding and headlines (he looks particularly dashing in all caps) and also sitting back and composing a casual note to a dear friend. Pamplemousse is mostly sweet and just a little sophisticated, and he likes being just as he is. Pamplemousse started out as a typeface based on the lettering of Gustav Klimt in his poster for the first exhibition of the Vienna Secession movement (Art Nouveau). This drifted into an homage to Rea Irvin's iconic masthead typeface for the New Yorker magazine. Finally, with the addition of a lowercase (absent from Irvin's typeface), a significant revision away from both Klimt and Irvin into a more casual space, Pamplemousse was born! Oh — why "pamplemousse?" "Pamplemousse" is French for grapefruit. What goes better in your Sunday gin and tonic than an aromatic slice of pamplemousse? Say it a few times. Preferably after a couple of those g & t's. You'll see how fun he can be...
  10. Grappa by Sudtipos, $49.00
Grappa, a traditional Italian spirit with a rich history, shares much in common with typefaces - both embody cultural heritage, craftsmanship, and a sensory experience. Grappa is distilled from the skins, pulp, seeds, and stems left over from winemaking, resulting in a strong and aromatic drink that varies in flavor based on the grape and distillation process. Similarly, typefaces are designed characters that convey a unique style, weight, and form, communicating messages and expressing ideas through text. We are thrilled to introduce Grappa, a stunning new font based on the classic "Invitation" typeface by Morris Fuller Benton, a renowned American designer. Grappa features nine weights and a variable font that offers greater customization, with unique triangle serifs that give it a distinct edge. The font also comes with a variety of alternates and swash characters, including a second version with modified alternate characters for even more design flexibility. Like Grappa, typefaces evoke emotions and cultural associations, often associated with specific historical periods, artistic movements, and contexts. Whether used in stationery, packaging, editorial design, or branding, Grappa is a versatile and timeless font that can add elegance and sophistication to any project. In conclusion, Grappa is an excellent addition to any designer's toolkit, offering a perfect blend of tradition and modernity. The font's distinctive personality and cultural connotations make it a beloved drink in Italy, and a font that can effectively communicate messages and ideas through text.
