view forum post #20784 Kirk - where can I get blog, the impaler? I could really use it for a project.
view forum post #20775 Yea, I know. I just think it's important she realizes how ridiculous she sounds so extremely defending her originality, considering that she keeps saying she got the font from the cover of a book. Meeeeeeeeeeeeow.
view forum post #20772 Seriously - you had seen the typeface before. On the cover of the book you used to copy it from. Stop blabbing about how it's your original work. No, it's whomever designed the cover of that book's design - or whomever designed the type for the cover of the book.
view forum post #20743 Kirk, I would recommend reading a book on typography, it will help you tremendously. - Cher
view forum post #20730 Hey Kirk - I think that Blog, The Impaler is really great. Very unique, and useful for interesting typography. 3-D is very in right now, as is illustrated. Lovely. Bowell Beralta is really nice, too. Santa Carla is great because I used to live in Santa Cruz and it really hits close to home. The 7th one down is completely illegible at that size.
view forum post #20729 Ivan - lol. Trust me, I have no reason to be envious of her at all. Besides, envy itself is a poisonous emotion. :)
view forum post #20719 I think it's Diploma. Or at least it's close. http://www.abstractfonts.com/font/536 Good lord, Good Charlotte's website is crappy.
view forum post #20718 Lauren- No one called you a novice. In fact, your font was uploaded on here to begin with because it is fantastic. And while I commend your effort to come in here and backtrack some of what you have said today, honestly, I don't believe for one second that you were being silly. You were being defensive and rude. Insulting "Fat" people, midwesterners and whoever else you swore at on this forum is why I called you unprofessional. You are unprofessional, and it shows through what you have written. You come around getting totally defensive about someone saying that your font reminds them of something else, saying it's slander that you would copy someone else, when clearly you missed the fact that it was never your idea in the first place. You did copy someone, the artist who designed that cover, or type for the book. It's a great font, and you did a great job of mimicking the type from the book you seem to be so fond of. But come one, "I do not need to copy someone elses work. Ever. " ? Really? If you would stop getting so defensive, maybe you would see that no one is attacking you. No one is trying to bring you down. You came to this forum angry because your font was not properly credited to you. Ok, be mad, get the problem solved, and move on. Be an adult. And you do not come across as confident. Saying how cool you are and how hot you are (and then rescinding your statements) says that you are incredibly low in the self-confidence department. You design pretty fonts, and I think we all look forward to more of your typefaces. You should cater to your strengths and seriously consider thinking about what you post of yourself on the web.
view forum post #20710 KK- Is the second from the top on the left the book title?
view forum post #20709 Woah - Nymphont... so you know, you're really not that attractive. Why is it the ones who are ok looking that get all diva? Anyway, if you don't put your information in the font file itself, you are just opening yourself up for intellectual property theft. You're a very talented typography designer, but you seriously need an attitude adjustment. For one thing, this conversation turned hostile because you come across as hostile and to be quite honest, incredibly bitchy. This is not the industry to act like an angry stripper. Leave the drama at the club and don't bring it into a professional atmosphere. And so you know, there are FAR more attractive geeks than you around here, and clearly have more class than you. If you ever did get net-famous, you would be the Heidi Montag of the Dev/Design world. Everyone would just wish you would go away and overlook anything great you have made. I'm sure you're going to blow up at me, as well, but as a fellow woman, and fellow designer - knock it off, you're making yourself very unlikeable.
