Red House Painters Font
This band name is always written in the same beautiful font, but I can't seem to find out which one it is exactly. Does anyone know? Thanks.
Do you have a sharper image? Higher contrast, text only.
I'm sorry but this is the best I could get. I've never seen their logo printed on anything other than the album covers so it's hard to get a really sharp image. Plus, it's never black text on a white backround. I inverted the logo from another cover that had light text on a dark backround in order to make it easier to compare with other fonts. The image itself is a bit blurry. I hope it's not too bad. Thanks again for your help.
the closed approximation should be something like a Caslon Openface with faked SmallCaps.
See also BD engraved:
Thanks propaganda. Caslon Openface looks very similar indeed. However, there are major differences between the capital R and capital P; Caslon seems to be a bit curvier. If nothing else comes up, I would certainly use this as an alternative.
Thanks for trying Alex but that is the same I can distill from your first image and that is not good enough, see the suggestions of Uwe.
Somewhere there must be something better, sure.
All right. I really hope these are a bit better. After some research I actually found quite a few decent pics. I believe the last example is the same font, only not in small caps and not engraved. Perhaps this will make the search easier. Again, I'm sorry that the quality isn't that great. If it's still unacceptable I will search for better pics again. Koeiekat, can you post the link to those suggestions by Uwe please? I couldn't find them. Thanks again for your help.
the outline typeface looks close to Palatino by Hermann Zapf. Have a look at Smaragd by Gudrun Zapf-von Hesse, a Palatino Outline:
The lowest line with the solid letters didn`t fit. It`s might be a Times Bold.
Wow! That looks like the one! Thanks so much for all your help.
And Uwe is the user propaganda.hilfs.kra? Ok now I understand what you meant by "see the suggestions of Uwe." :P. Thanks again.
