maybe you do not need to be close to the origin?
Look at:

You might squeeze the typeface to get a similar
look. See image (half scale horizontal). You might
handmade a few characters ...

Keyword for the search: ,,Western'' and you will get a lot off slab serifs ... :-(

Heh...yeah I know. I don't have a font manager of any kind so if I don't know the name of what I'm looking for it can turn into a crapshoot in a hurry. Most times it's just quicker to give the old pen tool a workout :)
