Great idea, flawless (well, almost) performance - I advice all the designers here to upload their profiles there - even more advertising won't hurt anyone.

In a nutshell, Typedia is a community website to classify typefaces and educate people about them. Think of it like a mix between IMDb and Wikipedia, but just for type. Anyone can join, add, and edit pages for typefaces or for the people behind the type.

We love type, and we have a burning desire to learn as much as possible about typefaces: where they come from, who made them, and why they look the way they do. We want everyone to be able to share in that rich knowledge and enjoy the art and artists of type design. Over time, we think Typedia could grow into a great educational resource for people to learn about their favorite typefaces and discover new ones.

Really cool! So nice of you to be so welcoming w/ the site, inviting anyone interested take part. I find that so many of the type related sites are so cliquish. You know, people get crazy and protective about fonts.

Well, actually you cannot UPLOAD or DOWNLOAD fonts from this site, that's sort of Wikipedia for typefaces :) In case you need help putting your fonts there, let me know..(the font preview feature is kinda shaky, as you need to edit a FLA file and export it to SWF - sort of annoying :D

Oh yeah I understood the premise, but you really think my fonts are suitable to be listed?

sheesh....girl :) I listed my fonts, so why not list your fonts as well?

Well maybe if one of my fonts made a Smashing Magazine font list! JK :P

Ok I'll get around to it & sharing what other (little) type knoweledge I might be able to contribute as well.

I first heard of Typedia from imjustcreative.com (@imjustcreative) on twitter & really liked it. :)
