Hiya,

can anyone suggest somewhere to get a free version of this font or one very similar? I've seen one that would do the job with even wider serifs, particularly on the central vertex of the W's, but I couldn't get that font's name :(

I can only find commercial ones available of this alt shaded Engravers, but I can't believe that there isn't a free version of this style of font!

I found a workaround for this problem, but I'd still appreciate a suggestion for a font like this (TTF or PS 'quality' if that's what you mean Koeiekat).

The workaround in Illustrator is to make a pattern swatch of diagonal lines, and use the appearance menu to apply this pattern to an outlined Engravers font.

If you don't mind the lines being horizontal have a look at the Ecuyer DAX.

Thanks Koeiekat, but yeah I really need the diagonal (Alt) shaded version - unfortunately my fix for Engravers doesn't give the accented edges that Engravers DT and your excellent suggestion Ecuyer has.
