A book about Adrian Frutiger and his works has been printed by the Swiss Foundation Type and Typography in Bern, CH.

The book – as the Italian newspaper Il Sole 24Ore said – is out in three languages: English, French and German.

Uh, by the way, have you seen the wonderful job done by Michael Bierut and Pentagram for the new The Atlantic?

I just love it.

Yes, striking it is -if not brutal force. Back to the mid fourties with a statement.! Also see http://www.theatlantic.com/covers

My cover looks a bit different from your pict though. Got yours from a book-stand?

Add: notice the difference between a 51K jpg and a 41K png?

No, I got it from The Atlantic website. My own copy comes airmail, and it is just like yours, with the white band that I suyppose is for the address tag for the US Mail.

You're right, though. The PNG and GIF formats are way better when there are no photographs involved, ie for text only images. And the weigh less too.

The redesign is truly beautiful. I took the night to go back and forth the pages. Clean and powerful. The force of the sans serif is balanced in the cover page by the old masthead, in the interior pages by the elegant H+F Mercury. Adore.

I love the magazine and with this new dress, I guess I'll renew from now my subscription.

For those who are not The Atlantic readers, you can read Bierut's analysis – a bit of a case history, for those in the industry – even on Pentagram's website. Click here:
