OK, I'm fairly new to this graphics/font/clipart thing so please forgive my ignorance.

What I need is a font with a lowercase "t" without the tail, or a clipart cross without a background.

There are quite a number of fonts that have a t that looks like a cross but almost all (non fancy) fonts have the same symbol under the keyboard combination Alt+0134 (on the numeric keypad). One you have for sure, the Arial. Try it. You will see this: †
