Hi there,

I´m new here and I´m searching for something looking a little bit like (must not be exact) Marzipan Font from Wilton - I just need it for one piece so if I find something close I won´t have to buy the whole thing.

Does anyone know a free font like this?

Thanks in Advance,

Kati

Have you already looked into the Script category?

There's plenty of suitable typefaces.

Uh, Master Alex, I *love* the way pages scroll when you go forward in the search. Great things you're doing.

Hi Sergio,

yes, thank you, but I did search this and did not find anything close.

I want do write this Name - just like in the picture! And I´m searching for those characteristic "M"and "a"

Any more suggestions would be appreciated!

Bye, Kati

Ciao, Kati.

What's the use intended for that word? Do you really need it as a font, to use for texts, or an image would also do? If that's the case, you could clean up the image from the background and stream it with Illustrator. That way, you'd have the name as a vectorial logo, exportable in different formats – from the web to print quality.
However, I can't find an M like that but «Salamander», «Bitch Cakes» and «Harrison Font» may have similar As for the ascender, maybe not for the descender. You can find them on Dafont.

Hi minismama :) ... if it is only for embroidery this should be large enough to digitize, even when you need true type.
I have seperated the r and l for the sake of easier digitizing.

Have fun and ... be nice to the cats

Thank you, this is great - i just got my digitizing program and hopefully will be able to digitize it in the next days as I´m just learning to do so.

Your cat looks just like ours ;)

Thanks again!!!

Oh sorry, sure - he looks just like you ;)

Thats interesting - I´ll keep Gary in mind - at first I have to play around with my new digitizing-toy - at the moment I´m too dumb with digitizing, I would not even know what to ask.

Bye, Kati

Good Morning!
Kat thanks for the recommendation, I am very flattered!
Kati, Re digitising 'Marlene'. There are a number of ways you can do it:- I do not know if this is the correct way but in the absence of the original font I would suggest this(Sometimes I do it this way when I have the original font because it gives me more control over what I am digitising):- Pull the 'Marlene' image up on your program and using column stitch 'trace' the outline of the letters and build your design that way. You would need to work out your entry / exit points so that the connecting blocks of the letter stitch smoothly without stopping or using jump stitches to connect them.
If you look at your original you can see how the letters are formed and the direction of the stitches.
I feel that to digitise like this you would learn a great deal as opposed to using the ‘Autopunch button’
If I can be of anymore help to you just shout!
Kind Regards
Gary
