Thought I'd try posting this here -- you never know what a collective group of minds can find out. :-P

Does anyone know the font that the movie "The Ring" uses in its logo? (I imagine the actual "Ring" font is a modified version of another font or else completely hand-drawn, but this font is extremely similar. A Thai movie called "Shutter" also used a similar font in its logo. Examples can be found in these images, taken from the HBO Making of special on the DVD for "The Ring Two."

Hey everyone,

Sorry to bump this topic (I know it's old) but this is driving me absolutely nuts. If anyone has seen the show "Scariest Places on Earth" during its last season, they used an extremely similar font. From what I can gather, the characters are all the same except for the lower-case (and perhaps upper-case) "O" which was modified for The Ring to make it look more like the circular logo.

An example of the SPOE font is attached. Sorry for the quality. There are several other examples I can post if need be. I found a similar font, Darlin, but there are enough differences in the characters that I can tell it's not the exact font. If anyone knows this, that would be fantastic. It's a rough looking children's handwriting font, but searches for that have been fruitless. It has to be a font, it's definitely not hand-drawn as the characters are the same - I think they alternate between lower and upper case to give the text more randomness but I'm not entirely sure.
