I have downloaded and installed numerous fonts but recently I have run into the problem of installing new fonts. Everytime I try to install one I get the following message: "Unable to install the ___ (TrueType) font. There may be too many fonts installed, or the font file may be damanged." It then tells me to uninstall some fonts before installing new ones or contact my font vendor about obtaining new ones.
The problem is however I have tried to install enough of a variety that I highly doubt each file was damanged, which means I have to have too many. So I ended up deleting a bunch of fonts that I never use and never plan to. I tried again and got the same message. Interesting enough though, whenever I install a graphic designs program or some sort it has no problem installing those fonts that come along with it.
What is the problem here, why cant I install individual fonts that I find on sites such as this one? Is there anyways in which I can by pass this, such as setting up my programs so that I can access fonts from another folder besides the font folder? All help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You could be having the same problem I have had often with Subfamily naming information. Get some software that will allow to view or edit the font information and confirm that it has a Subfamily name, and add one if it doesn't.
