Anyone know where to find a Finno-Ugric Phonetic fonts? Diacritics and IPA (International Phonetics Association) fonts well represented here, but I don't seem to find Finno-Ugric fonts anywhere, not for money nor love. Strange. And I need them for my studies...

Any info HUGELY appreciated

Thanks, koeiekat, for the info, I got one step closer. They have diacritics, accents, whatnots for regular writing, but, alas, no phonetic fonts found as of yet. I shall dwell deeper into the site... gotta get my Hungarian dictionary outta the shelf first, though... Ben je nederlander of vlaams, misschien... alleen maar 'n gedachte...

Great thanks, koeikat, for your efforts. Unfortunately they only provide for IPA-fonts, which differ from Finno-Ugric ones quite significantly... The phonetic writing systems are remotely similar, but still IPA and F-U fonts are wholly different. Why do they make it all so difficult, should keep to one system througout the linguistic field...

Just my HO.

What you want is probably the fluralic. Only commercally available and only for Mac.

Another phonetic notation system is Finno-Ugric transcription, that can be extreme complicated but also powerful. JL-types has created the typeface Fluralic for MacOS, on which you can type unbelievable phonetic text p; without tears. In Fluralic there are so many characters, that it is not available for Windows.

Yup, that's more like it, thanks koeiekat!!!

Seems to have most of the needed characters. Now, I'll just have to figure out how to make the most of it. Persuade people in "high" places to purchase them, or something. I'll need to check with the Linguistic Dept. if they have these for a student-friendly price :) I don't have a Mac, but can access one easily.

Thanks k-kat, you rule!
